Business Cards is Not a Thing of the Past

Business Cards

The more evolved the “social media” area is becoming on the internet today, the less I feel that we are paying attention to the importance of attracting customers from outside these realms. Today specifically, I’m going to talk about business cards and how these are something to consider having a bunch on, preferably at all times but at least when you know you might be asked to present what you do.

Why Business Cards still?

It all depends on the type of clients you want to attract but the fact is that many corporate clients are not as into the social media realms as some others and in any case, this is not going to be an intro card to you and your work when you meet someone in person (yes, I know, the old in person way). This is however a brilliant opportunity to shine, present yourself elegantly and leave an impact with the card.

Say you are at a conference somewhere! Chances are that there are loads of both prospective clients and prospective friends or business-partners even. Having a bunch of different business cards that you can use (different only if you run many sites) to present yourself in the area will make an impact on the client. Don’t remember to give them the correct one.

Business Card Essentials

A business card needs some essential things on it. Depending on the type of promotion (whether a website or your company position) you will be including different information. In general for the example, let us say that you’ll be promoting yourself as the producer of a podcast or website. You’ll definitely want the site name and logo on there, as well as your name and position. Good other useful things to have are the standard contact details, email, phone and address. Remember that an address will instantly add credibility.

My best advice would be not to overdo it. You need something simple and elegant that draws attention and runs with the theme of the website/logo of the company/website you are promoting. Don’t clutter the card down with too much information either.
