Discounts—A Potential Money Maker

Discounts

Discounts are loved by your clients! They help them save money and thus they are looking out hard for discounts. If done right, this can lead to an increased flow of clients for you. The trick is to have them firmly in place…

Creating A Set of Discounts

What you first need to do, is to sit down and try to come up with the discounts that you currently want to offer to your clients and all the terms behind. How long are they valid, when are they void and most importantly, when are they valid? Make a nice little list so you have some for the future as well, perhaps for the holiday seasons (depending on your work). Once you’ve come up with these, the real trick enters, that is to stick to them firmly!

Sticking to The Discounts Firmly

This is what is most difficult, not straying away to the discounts that you set. There is always the case of a client trying to push the price down just a bit further. If you really need the work, it is very easy to just throw out a discount for the client, making him or her think that your prices are variable which in turn gives the impression that you might have been overcharging. By sticking to the rules of the discounts that you’ve set-up, you are more likely to stick with a good revenue as well as happy clients.

Make Them Simple

There is no need to enter any complex discount schemes here! Have simple and easy-to-use discounts and you are likely to get more buzz surrounding them. Likewise, make sure to leave them for enough time that buzz can emerge, or promote the discounts if they are for a very short period. If in luck, this will spur immediate work (= money).
