MacHeist

It was supposed to be early Saturday but things got interupted and it is not later instead, but here are still some news for you from today and yesterday. Have a great weekend!

  • The people over at MacHeist is currently offering Parallels Desktop 3 and MacPilot for the amazing price of $49. What’s more, if you are a returning MacHeist buyer you can get an extra $10 off if you sign in with your account details upon purchase!

  • A while ago I wrote that Scott Kelby posted a list of his top requested features on his blog and asked all his readers to contribute with a list. Well, now there is a poll up on the subject where you can vote on your favourite ones on the list. Note though that it isn’t any Adobe official thing but merely an experiment.

  • If you are a Photoshop user and a user of the Olympus E-420 or E-520 then you should be happy to know that Adobe Camera Raw 4.5 Beta does support the RAW format in both of those cameras. You can find the plugin here.

First look at Photoshop CS4 UI

Some news goodies from today to get us in the weekend spirit as always :D

  • Over at his blog, John Nack has posted about coming Photoshop UI updates that will mainly affect us Mac users, giving us a choice to use an application frame, meaning all panels etc. will be covered in one window instead of being stuck to the sides of the screen. Luckily they are going to make it an option to use it or not which is definitely good.

  • If you are thinking about purchasing a Mac Pro from Apple you should watch out so you don’t happen to order a lot of video cards thinking that you are ordering a higher speed. Terry White had a post on his blog about this and you should give it a read to be aware of what you are ordering.

  • Coming up this coming week, starting on Monday is the Apple WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) 2008! What we are all expecting is of course a 3G iPhone and a new .Mac service as well as the hidden goodies that they usually manage to come out with. I’m for one looking forward to see what they come up with. It’s a bummer though that I can’t be following the keynote through live posts, I have a end of the year ball to attend that evening, so I’ll recap all afterwards.

  • Some weekend fun as well and it’s time to get Simpsonized again. Visit the SimpsonizeMe website to get all yellow according to your wish and then you can go and compile your family in Photoshop ;)

» Thursday Quick-News

Delicious Library

  • Over at Photoshop Insider, Scott Kelby posted a very good post with what he wants to see in the next version(s) of Photoshop and Lightroom. It’s some really good ideas that I really like and agree on.

  • If you are a keen photographer you should have checked out JPG Magazine and if not, then you should go ahead and do that right now. It’s a really cool photography magazine with contests and featured amazing photography.

  • The Mac program Delicious Library has been updated to its second version featuring a lot of new updates and cool things. It’s only available for Mac OS X 10.5 and if you are interested in it and you are not using Leopard, you can still purchase the older version for use with Panther and Tiger. You can purchase a brand new copy for $40 and an upgrade from the old runs for $20.
