» Creative Suite Tips and Tricks Podcast Live Again!!

Filed in News, Podcasts No Comments »

After a long while being practically dead because of bandwith troubles with it not being enough. Now after a long while of planning the podcast, it is now back online on its brand new and own website www.csttpodcast.com! It’s all new graphics, all new intro and all new episodes coming, but a good thing, if you were a previous subscriber all you need to do is to make sure to have the right podcast feed URL and use the correct link to iTunes. Or just do a search for Creative Suite Tips and Tricks on there!

Happy listening to the first released episode today!

Photoshop Express Learning Center

Firstly, the Photoshop Express Learning Center here on Bernskiold Media is now fully loaded with the complete tutorial series on Photoshop Express! You can visit the learning center on the link or by clicking on the image above to get up to speed with the new Photoshop Express right now!

Name Change and new header!

As you may have noticed, the site has got a brand new name now. I have decided that considering content and all, it is now best to name the site Bernskiold Media which also more clearly defines what the site is about. The domain however, will be staying the same as before and no updates are required to view the site for you!

Also updated is the header with a little more modern navigation bar, that is perhaps a little bit more interesting than the previous. Expect some smaller design updates to be coming this week on with some cool smaller features as well.

Website backend updated to WordPress 2.5

The backend has been updated to the brand new release version of WordPress which is version 2.5. It features a redesigned admin panel and some new features for the end viewer as well, which I’ll be working on incorporating in the near future, but don’t expect a ton, most of the updates coming are planned ones ;)

So go and check out the first parts of the Photoshop Express Learning Center now!

Wedding Photography -- David Ziser

Wedding Photography with David Ziser - 15 ways to improve on-camera flash

David Ziser has now a brand new online class over at KelbyTraining.com on improving on-camera flash for wedding photography. The official class title is "15 ways to make Your On-Camera Flash Take Better Photos" and what you’ll be learning is to take better flash photos, with your flash on the camera, which could be very useful for anyone who has got a flash and are mainly using it on the camera, or if you are looking to get one and want to know what you can do up-front. So go over to the class at KelbyTraining.com.

Photoshop Elements 6 for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski is out!

Elements 6 BookThe brand new book, "Photoshop Elements 6 Book for Digital Photographers" co-authored by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski is now on its way to the bookstores. The book deals with all the new things now in the new version of Photoshop Elements and they have added a lot of new chapters for example a big one about Camera Raw handling using PSE 6. You can be one of the first who gets the book by ordering it at Amazon.com or Barnes&Nobles.com.

Creative Suite Tips & Tricks on its way to relaunch!

Yes, you read that right, after some time being down due to bandwidth trouble and hosting trouble, the Creative Suite Tips and Tricks podcast will be brought back at the end of this week (alas a new episode coming next monday). It’s going to have a complete redesign and you’ll be seeing a lot of new and improved stuff there. On the track, I have an episode plan that is spanning a good 12 weeks or so into the future. Just keep reading here to perhaps get a little sneak peak on the new look and episodes ;)

I think that about it rounds off the training news right now so again, stay tuned for all the cool stuff. Oh and also, I updated the reviews section with a couple of new reviews this weekend.

» Apple Tuesday

Filed in Bernskiold.com No Comments »

As we all know, Tuesday is the very famous day for Apple’s updates. Unfortunately, there were no big updates today, but something is always something.

The music program Garageband just got upgraded to version 4.1.2. The only things that were changed were some bugs. For instance problems with USB and FireWire units should be fixed.

Next, the photography editing program Aperture got upgraded to 2.0.1. And it’s recommended to all Aperture-users since it fixes a lot of things. For example you can now customize keyboard shortcuts and import photos through drag & drop.

And lastly, as always, I will finish this post too with a photography tutorial. This time, it’s Digital Photography School that shows you how you can take very impressive macro photos with a point and shoot camera.
Take a look here.

» Photography Monday!

Filed in Bernskiold.com No Comments »

This Monday post I decided to spend on telling about some photography stuff.

Tamrac just came with new bags. Expedition 5, 6, 7 and 8.
In the smallest bag, you can fit in a 12" Computer notebook, two camera bodies and five lenses. While in the biggest one, you can have a 17" computer, three camera bodies and up to 10 lenses.
All the bags are created in a water resisting fabric and have all weather zippers.

And now, another photography tutorial. This time, the site photocritic.org shows and article about how you can take some great photos of food.
Check it out here.

Finally, I just wanted to tell all of you Mac users that the very popular RSS-reader NewsFire no more costs the $25 it used to.
So go ahead and download it for free here.

» Site Update Galore

Filed in Bernskiold.com 1 Comment »

There’s just about only one reason to why you didn’t get a news post here yesterday. I’ve been working hard, especially yesterday, to expand the tutorials sections a little bit and I’ve made a long list of subjects to cover, so far in Lightroom, Photoshop and Bridge but I am going to make some lists for the other applications as well however. If there is any subject or effect or anything you would like me to cover in a tutorial, please leave a comment on this post and I’ll read and add to my list (as long as it is possible to do).

Now the good thing isn’t tha tI’ve made a list, it is that I’ve started recording many of the tutorials and I’ve even posted a bunch of them up on the site! Lightroom has gotten an amazing number of new tutorials over two days;

The Photoshop category has also got some updates which are currently being uploaded and processed so check in there later today. If you guys have missed it, I’ve added a brand new category, Pixelmator. I was getting a lot of requests for Pixelmator tutorials so you’ve got them!

Alright so that pretty much sums up the changes to the site right now (the reviews are also being updated frequently) and I have some further plans for it coming very soon so sit tight! Also later today I’ll sum up the recent news.

» Reviews central launched!

Filed in Bernskiold.com No Comments »

This weekend I’ve put in a lot of work in a brand new section here at the site and that is the new reviews central where I’ll be putting up reviews on anything from software, books and online training to hardware and camera gear. I’m really excited about it and already there are some brand new reviews online so go and check it out, just click the reviews link in the navbar!
