» Unexpected things happen!
I was relaxing from school yesterday evening when I got a call from the boss at a camera store where I work occasionally wanting me to work today. I couldn’t say no could I, so all day today I’ve been working hard there and I’m half dead right now. Seriously, there has been so many people coming and going all day that you just are so very tired. It has been very fun though and I hope to be able to work there some more before Christmas, if they need people that is.
Tomorrow I have a flute concert. It’s gonna be pretty fun and cool and I hope for my own sake that it goes well. For once I’m actually not nervous at all really…which is good
You could have begun to think that I wasn’t going to be leaving you with some tech stuff
Seeing as I’ve spent the entire day in a camera store, I really must jump on the wagon telling you how awesome the D300 is! I got a little time off where I could play around with the D300 a bit and my god, it is just awesome! I’m thoroughly impressed by the noise levels and how good the auto-focus performs! It just seems like a nice camera and so does the new lenses, the 14-24 in particular, it is just one very sweet lens!
I hope to get to play a little bit more with them in due course and maybe even a D3
I might get a post with the news up later but now I’m going to watch some TV and relax a bit more!
» Quick Busy Notice
Alright so it’s the final week of the term when it comes to schoolwork and I’m pretty busy so until tomorrow there will be no new blog posts, also that’s why there haven’t been any this week
Sorry about that but it’s all gonna change because I have a lot of cool stuff going on now in between of the other tiresome stuff ![]()
» Friday Updates
Here’s coming at you, the late Friday Updates where I first would like to wish all US viewers of my blog a late happy thanksgiving weekend
We may not celebrate it here in Sweden, but it is still good use wishing you a happy thanksgiving. After that I’m going to get started on the Friday updates!
First off, on the Creative Suite Tips and Tricks podcast, you’ve got a special thanksgiving episode, released just yesterday. It is about creating a cool three column brochure using InDesign and Photoshop!
Also, the Revver upload form is now working (for those of you that don’t know, Revver is the site I use to host my videos) for me, so expect all tutorials I’ve been recording to come flying up! They are being added right now and I’ve added two text tutorials so far today!
Website Tipper - Web Designer Wall
I came across an awesome resource the other day if you are a web designer you have to check out the Web Designer Wall website. Created by the awesome and talented Nick La of N-Design Studio, Web Designer Wall is the most awesome site to get some tutorials, discussions and just in general keep up with the latest trends in the design area!
Engadget hosting major Black Friday give aways!
If you head over to the tech blog, Engadget you’ll see them hosting a lot of major and big give aways on cool gadgets and stuff for free! They’re holding these as contests and all you basically have to do is leave them a comment!
Im in a contest voting!
I was very kindly nominated for the Photograph of the Month award for December at the Photography Corner website. Now it is up to their community to vote for the best of the 14 nominees! Keep your fingers crossed!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I’m hoping for some nice photo opportunities this weekend so I’m going to end by wishing you a very wonderful weekend!
Enjoy the time off, I know I sure will!
» It’s been radio silence week…
It’s really been a dead week around here, I know but I’ve had so much things to do for school with homework and tests that I really have not had much time home off at all therefore the “radio silence week”. For now I have no more tests until week 48 so it should be cool and the coming week will be “work experience” week meaning I’m gonna be working full time in a camera store (my choice that ;)) for a week, so that we get a feel of how it is to work… It should be a blast and I expect that I should be able to give you all some opinions on the latest stuff, meaning the Canon 40D and the new lenses as well as the iPod Touch this coming week, as I’ll be able to try them (and sell them even :D)!
Continue to read on today as we get to the Friday News Update!
» Friday News Blurb
So this is the Friday News Blurb coming at you with some news and tips, for your Friday comfort
First off, there is a rumor going around that Apple may be skipping the iPhone launch in France, simply because it is by law required that all the mobiles must be released unlocked as well. Because no iPhone has been announced for France, rumors have it that Apple may be skipping the country. I’m still anxiously awaiting the Swedish launch of the iPhone myself!
Free Stock Images
Now this is something I just got to think about when writing the first post. iStockPhoto the most awesome stock photo site, that I use all the time each week picks a Free Image of the Week to the public, that you can download and use as your purchased images. Now that is pretty cool but there is more, they also release a free image of the month as well! So go the the iStockPhoto home page to check it out!
Life Stuff
Yeah, I haven’t posted any life stuff for a while but I figured why not today since I took a maths test today and English test Wednesday and I think booth went really well!
Now I just hope they turn out to be as well as I hope they are!
Photoshop Friday at JustinSeeley.com
I thought I’d tip you off that today (and all Fridays) will be Photoshop Friday over at JustinSeeley.com with a video tip pre-released to blog readers every week! So go and check it out!
Finishing up…tomorrow & photography!
Alright to finish things off, I shot some test shots today from the balcony where I live over the blocks of buildings! Scroll down to the next post to have a look at it. Nothing special, but I think it was a nice try at something I rarely do!
For tomorrow, expect some new photography since I’m going out somewhere to shoot some! Also expect some new photoshop stuff (tutorials n’ tricks) coming!
» Entering Banner Contest!
I decided to enter a swedish banner contest sponsored by Microsoft to promote the Office:mac 2008. If you want to go and vote for me, click here and then rate the banner you see from 1-5 where 5 is the highest
The two highest rated each get an iPhone and so does the two Microsoft’s pick and the site editors two picks! So in total there is a full 6 iPhones in the run!
» Wacom Bamboo Tablet!
So I went out and got the Wacom Bamboo tablet today and I’m very happy with it. I’ve been missing a tablet since I got my Mac when my old one stopped working (the only one that Wacom makes that don’t support Macs) but now I’ve upgraded to the Bamboo which is perfect for my use!
I couldn’t be happier with it and the size of A6 does fit myself very well, since I don’t really need a larger one and I don’t have money for it either!
So just a quick update on the new tablet purchase!
» Recieved prize DVD!!
Last week I won the award “Image of the Week” on the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) website, much to my surprise. I was of course very thrilled about just the recognition of me and my image. When I found out that I also got a free training DVD from them, as a prize, I went even happier. So I settled on choosing the Adobe Illustrator CS3 Down and Dirty Tricks by Corey Barker, because I feel I know Photoshop very well, but I would love to learn Illustrator more. Today I received the DVD, which was very fast considering shipping from the US!
I just love it! Kudos to Corey for making such a smashing DVD!!
I’m also looking at purchasing a new Wacom Tablet, namely the Bamboo (since my old don’t work on the Mac) because it seems like a great value for the money and it suits my price range!
I’ll keep you posted!
