How to take a screenshot

To take a screenshot with the iPhone, just hold down the home button and press the sleep/wake button up top. This should flash the screen, indicating that it is taking a screenshot. Your newly created screenshot will turn up in the camera roll.

Getting a larger keyboard for web address typing

To get a larger keyboard when typing the web address, just turn the iPhone into landscape mode and the keyboard will follow and enlarge as well, making it easier for you to type on it faster.

Share Safari URLs

This is a pretty simple, yet cool tip. To share a Safari URL, go to the page in question, tap the plus sign at the bottom and then tap “Mail Link to this Page”. This will fire up mail and create a link to the page you were viewing.

Change the iPod Icons

In the iPod mode you have the default buttons at the bottom. To get to Albums, Podcasts etc. you have to tap the “More” button to get to them. Well, fortunately it is really simple to rearrange these icons. Just tap the More button, and at the top of that screen tap “Edit”. This will get you into edit more where you can just drag and drop the icons you wish to have in the mini-dock!

Force Quit an Application

To force quit an application on the iPhone, just press and hold the home button for about six seconds.

Reboot the iPhone

To reboot the iPhone, press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button at the top for about eight seconds. This will make the screen go black and then show the Apple logo.

The earbud controls

On the headset that comes with the iPhone you have a little microphone with a built in click control that can be used to do different things.

• Click once to answer a call or to cancel it. Click and hold for a couple of seconds to send it right away to voicemail.
• While you are playing music/videos you can click it once to pause and click again to play.
• While listening to music again, double clicking it will advance one track.

Typing Speedups

When you are typing on the iPhone, never bother capitalizing the start of a sentence, as the iPhone will do that automatically. Also never type any apostrophes in contractions as it will also type it in automatically.

More domain endings

When in Safari/Mail and you are typing out a URL you can not only get to .com easily. You can also get to .net, .org and .edu as easily. Just hold down the .com button for a little while and the menu with the other options will turn up.
