Sigma 10-20mm ƒ/4-5.6
The Sigma 10-20mm ƒ/4-5.6 DC HSM is a wide-angle zoom lens, which really doesn’t cost a whole lot and that is this lens’s biggest advantage. Granted, there are better lenses and I wouldn’t deny that for a second, but for the money, it is hard to find I think.
For anyone shooting landscapes or similar it is very popular and also in real estate it has found a place as a good budget lens that does its job great. However a word of caution goes to you if you are into shooting architecture. You will get distortion with this lens that you’ll need to fix in Photoshop.
If you consider and compare what you get and the distortion for example (and the time fixing it in Photoshop) you could end up with two possible scenarios. Either, you are a high volume shooter that can’t live with having to correct the distortion in architecture photos, in each image. Or, you are a low volume shooter that can and have the time to correct the photos you need to in the computer and you cannot spend the money on a lens that’ll not have these distortions but that’s double the price.
Myself, I’m scenario number two and being a landscape shooter as well, I don’t see any of the distortions. I quite like the lens and I think it performs very well and is really something you must have for the price!
