WordPress Website Bootcamp

Come Attend Our WordPress Website Bootcamp!

We (Bernskiold Media) are bringing our first ever WordPress Website Bootcamp seminar to Denver on October 22 and 23. If you are in and around Denver, or fancy a trip, we have an exciting two days planned.

The first day is the main seminar where I will be showing you how to create a website from scratch using WordPress. There will be no coding involved at all, as the goal is that you are able to create and maintain your website without that knowledge. At the end of the day, you will know how to build a website with galleries, e-commerce functionality, any amount of pages, a blog, contact form, statistics and much more.

The second day gives you a chance to be in a small group, hands-on workshop with only 6 people in total allowed to attend. During the day we will work together on your own website, taking the knowledge from the first day and applying it. What you get is a full day with a web designer and WordPress expert that helps you understand and set up your own website in a limited group of people.

The first day is available at $99 and the second at $499 or get them both together for a special deal of $549. Sign up now to take advantage of this great early-bird pricing and help us launch the first of hopefully many, WordPress Website Bootcamps.

For more information and registration, head over to the workshop page at Bernskiold Media. Have any questions? Leave a comment or send an email. I very much look forward to seeing you in Denver in October!

I wanted to give you all a heads up that I am hosting a free webinar on Friday that is the first in a two-part series called Web Design 101. Now on Friday (September 17th), I am going to show you all and take you through the creation of the design and share my tips and tricks as a professional web designer on the process.

If you want to learn the last but ever so important bit about the coding, you want to join me again on October 1 for the second hour-long session which then is all about taking the finished Photoshop design and turning it into code, but more on that when it draws closer.

Welcome to the new Bernskiold Media!

Let me be the first to welcome you to this brand new iteration of Bernskiold Media. If you have been here before, welcome back. If you are new to the site, welcome! What you will mostly notice on the new site is of course the new look. We’ve been working hard in order to present to you a brand new site that is easier to browse.

We’ve made it much easier to read the reviews and tutorials and we are adding a lot of new tutorials now, every week, with the goal of being the one go-to place for fully free, high-quality tutorials, both in text and video format. We have a wide range of topics for these tutorials, from using the Adobe Creative Suite Applications to Code and even Photography!

We will also be posting some articles or interesting industry news on the blog, throughout the weeks as well as generally interesting things!

Go ahead, check out the new site, familiarize yourself with it, check out the new tutorials and let us know in the comments how you like it.

Early Thursday Tidbits

I’ve been on a little vacation, visiting my cousins for the past days and because yesterday was a travel day, the news update post for yesterday, is now coming today! Image above, taken with my iPhone only, hence the poor quality.

  • John Nack, the product manager for Photoshop, shared the other day some cool new utilities that work with Lightroom and ACR. A Lightroom plugin that could be of use to you if you use it with another application than Photoshop is Open Directly, a plugin that lets you send a RAW file from Lightroom and right into another editing application of your choice. It’ll become a paid plugin on August 7th, so give it a try.
  • Something software related again, VLC (the popular media player) has finally been updated to version 1.0! You can read more about this at MacAppZone.
  • I’m in the process of planning out tutorials and recording more videos for the site again and if you have any suggestions or ideas, feel free to leave them in the comments here! It is much appreciated.
