» First October Wednesday News

- Yesterday my buddy Jason over at Canonblogger had a cool tips and tricks post for photo shoots. They’re all very true and good pointers that even if you knew them, you might need to be reminded about.
- As much as they are commercials, the Apples tv ads are seen as a little series in and of themselves. They’ve been floating around YouTube as well as on the Apple site for quite some time. Apple has finally got their things gathered and made a YouTube channel of their own, sporting all of these videos.
- It’s a new month again, we are getting right into October and thus you might need a new wallpaper calendar. Last month on the CSTT Podcast I showed you how to create one of your own, but if you don’t feel you want to – check out these free ones posted by Smashing Magazine.
- Finally a site tip. I was shooting some product photography with studio gear for the first time this weekend (my model shoot didn’t happen because my model got sick) and to learn a whole lot about lighting, in a condensed time, Strobist was really a great resource. Check them out for everything on lighting basically!
And finally a shoutout to by buddy Harold whose birthday was yesterday. Happy "late" Birthday man!
» Friday Goodies

There is no hard explanation to why I never posted anything yesterday, I was just so tired after a long day filled with unexpected things. However some Friday Goodies is always needed before the weekend.
- Scott Kelby posted on his blog, Photoshop Insider, today about his latest book, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 for Digital Photographers and said that it was a complete rewrite of his old (about 95% new stuff). According to himself he’s streamlined his workflow, learnt a bunch of new things as well as learnt the most asked questions and how people use it. I can say that it is going to be a killer book!
- Mark your calendars, August 23rd. Something cool is coming. Just mark them and be with me there. No info as of now.
- A few votes in the poll are telling me that they don’t know what Photoshop World is so I thought I’d end that right now be telling. Photoshop World is a semi-annual convention for all Photoshop users. It’s held in the US once on the east coast on the spring and then on the west coat in Las Vegas every fall. This time it is coming up in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on September 4th through 6th. It’s an amazing conference and to read more, check out the Photoshop World website.
- Finally, if you need a mantra for all those times when clients are being a pain curtsey of my fellow NAPP member Michael. "I get paid either way, I get paid either way."
And with that nice mantra have a nice Friday eve and weekend. I’ll probably get some stuff up over the weekend as well.

» The Monday Stuff
There are a lot of things going on right now and here is a couple of goodies and news and as you see, I’m in for the posting and updating this week
Rumor: Canon releasing new dSLR in late January?
A new rumor has it that Canon will be releasing new cameras and specifically a new dSLR on January 24th, a week before PMA. The rumor has emerged from the Swedish camera magazine, Kamera och Bild’s web edition and the article there can be read here, in Swedish. Now this rumor doesn’t seem that unqualified since it comes right from the VP of Canon Sweden. We’ll just have to stay tuned and see!
Making your own calendars? Check this template out!
I’m making my own calendars for printing to family and friends this year as I did last year and when searching on the web, I found this nice and easy to customize calendar template online that consists of a .psd (Photoshop) file for each month! Complete with dates and all however in the format with Sunday first and Saturday last in the weekdays… Take a look here! My own calendar is not fully ready yet, but I’ll post some photos of it up when it is done!
Print purchases available from my photos!
If you remember me saying a while ago that I won a photograph contest where the prize was a years pro-membership to a website and service called SmugMug, then I can gladly say (and for those of you that don’t recall that as well) that I’ve finally gotten that site fully set-up and I’m uploading new photos and stuff there all the time and I find the site great! So if you want to purchase my prints, just head over to the Bernskiold Photography website and have a look!
Big photography contest coming up!
I know I’ve been saying this for a while now but it is really close to be released right now and it is gonna be huge I tell you! An advise you can get before it is released is to go over the photos you’ve taken this year and narrow out your best (only for this year of 2007)!
Now I can confirm though that (if you wasn’t reading this, you wouldn’t know ;)) the contest is coming up in only a couple of hours, so I do really mean that it is close!
