» Wednesday News Update
There has been some time since the news updates hasn’t there. With a full weekend using Leopard and testing it out, my
final conclusion is that at least for me, it works really well. All applications are working except the Video CS3 suite programs as well as some bugs in Lightroom, namely with the printing module which if you used any of the upgrade options to leopard (and not an erase and install) will not work. So all in all I think Leopard is great, lots of great features and I must say I am in love with Time Machine from the start. So check out the post coming later today, on a Leopard review
Check out these cool photographers!
I’m gonna start off by sending you over to this portfolio of the cool photographer Ninad Dabadghav who has a most impressive portfolio! Check it out right here and be amazed!
Next I will send you to another cool photographer, called Younes Bounhar. He’s an incredible photographer with lots and lots of talent so check him out here!
I wasn’t planning on sending you to this third photographer in the beginning, because I had originally only planned two photographer tips, but I thought why should he not be mentioned. So last but not least, go and check out my buddy, the awesome and talented landscape photographer, Jono Renton!
Photography Comic
So I think I have mentioned this photo comic once before here, but I absolutely love it! It is called WhattheDuck and it is just hilarious! So go over to the What the Duck site and read it!
A little more Leopard to finish off…
If you are thinking about the Leopard upgrade on your Mac but are a little hesitant, check out my review on it coming later today and also go and check out Terry White’s road to leopard part 1, 2 and 3!
Also, check out a new episode series in my Creative Suite Tips & Tricks Podcast that will, starting today, launch as a midweek episode that will all be about being creative with the creative suite and putting tools and techniques that you learn in the sunday/monday episodes to the use and jumping between the programs etc. It is gonna be cool so go and check it out later today!

Always open .jpeg in ACR!
If you always want to open your .jpg files inside of camera raw, go under the Photoshop preferences, down to File Handling and tick the box “Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for JPEG Files”.
Shortcuts on Applying Filters
You might have known that you can re-apply the same filter again by pressing Command + F (PC: Ctrl + F) but did you know, that by pressing Command + Option + F (PC: Ctrl + Alt + F) you can get the filter dialog of the filter you just applied, with the settings you applied before filled in.
Hide all layers except one!
To hide every other layer except one, hold down the Option (PC: Alt) key and click on the eye icon next to the layer.
Creating Layer Shortcuts
When creating new layers, there are the shortcuts you must know! First, to create a new layer below the current layer, hold down the Command (PC: Ctrl) key while pressing the new layer button. If you want to create your layer through keyboard strokes, press Command + Shift + N (PC: Ctrl + Shift + N) and to bypass the “New Layer” dialog box, throw in the Option (PC: Alt) key in the mix so it gets Option + Command + Shift + N (PC: Alt + Ctrl + Shift + N). Of course to Create a new layer via copy (likewise to duplicate) press Command + J (PC: Ctrl + J).
That’s it for Saturday Photoshopping, enjoy the tips and check back for the regular news on Monday! Until then, have a great weekend and check out the Creative Suite Tips and Tricks (CST&T) Podcast!

Website tippers!
I thought I should finish up this Monday News Update with tipping you off on a few of the best sites I know on the web! First off, the largest tutorial site on a ton of things, Pixel2Life is a must view for anyone looking to learn software, with tutorials from Operating Systems to the Adobe applications, you can find all tutorials over at Pixel2Life! The second site, I was recently tipped off on, by my dad, who found this design centered magazine styled blog called Smashing Magazine. This site is jam-packed with goodies on design and more and it is a very valuable resource! So give those two sites a view!
