» No Blogging Wednesday

Soirée Dramatique

Got a lot to do today which means that there will be a no blogging Wednesday. Instead go and check out a guest-blogger post over at Scott Kelby’s blog by Matt Kloskowski that talks about a fun project that involved photoshop! Matt did a wonderful post there and it is worth your time!

Tomorrow is going to be an article Thursday with some coolies! The picture above also from my recent weekend trip! Cool things are happening, more on that tomorrow!

» Friday “Sunshine” News

Web Designer Wall

I think I’ve just about mentioned it in all my blog posts this week! The weather here is fantastic and well, nothing short of smashing and brilliant (I could go on with extreme words like that for too long) which is causing today to be "Sunshine Friday"!

  • Adobe has added a new feature to its web based photo editor Photoshop Express. From today you can now import and manage photos that is on your Flickr account in addition to the ones previously available. Pretty cool I’d say if you are using Photoshop Express and Flickr!

  • I’m getting a lot of questions on how to work with WordPress and how to set it up for certain purposes and I thought I’d start writing a tutorial series about just that. How to work with WordPress, what settings to use, some plugins etc. I don’t have any estimated completion date but it should be within the coming two weeks I assume!

  • Over at LightroomKillerTips, Matt Kloskowski has a good Lightroom video today about how to backup to another drive instead of your main one. (Your catalog that is) It’s something that’s indeed really hidden.

  • If you work with the web or are a web designer like me, you probably have heard your share of SEO debates and articles but if you are a little new to the field (or even if you have been there and heard it) you’ll appreciate this article by Nick La over at the Web Designer Wall talking about SEO for Web Designers.

It’s been a long week indeed and it’s been very busy with a lot of things happening, at least for me! Now it is going to be a fun and relaxing weekend in the warm weather. Fear not, I have an article lined up for you guys tomorrow.

I’m going to be away at my cousins confirmation service tomorrow which means I’ll be in a church taking some nice pictures I hope. I might be able to share you some on Sunday!

Creative Suite Tips & Tricks on its way to relaunch!

Yes, you read that right, after some time being down due to bandwidth trouble and hosting trouble, the Creative Suite Tips and Tricks podcast will be brought back at the end of this week (alas a new episode coming next monday). It’s going to have a complete redesign and you’ll be seeing a lot of new and improved stuff there. On the track, I have an episode plan that is spanning a good 12 weeks or so into the future. Just keep reading here to perhaps get a little sneak peak on the new look and episodes ;)

I think that about it rounds off the training news right now so again, stay tuned for all the cool stuff. Oh and also, I updated the reviews section with a couple of new reviews this weekend.

What the Duck

It is finally friday and it is so very nice! I’m being busy with a lot of web design works and I’ve been working on location at a company locally for the past two days getting their website up to date and making it nicer, still not entirely finished but almost! On with todays news however!

What the Duck

I’ve linked to What the Duck previously on the blog but I figure it is time to do again (one cannot do that too many times!). What the Duck is a photography online comic strip that has grown very popular. It is daily and pictured above is today hillarious strip which you just have to read! Check out the What the Duck site for more!

New Adobe Magazine Edition

The newest edition (and first for 2008) of the free Adobe Magazine has been released. The new issue features Photoshop being used for concept art, architectural illustration, and scientific imaging so check it out here!

Layers - The new photoshop book, on layers!

Finally for today comes a book tip on what looks to be so far the best photoshop book of 2008! It is the new Layers: The Complete Guide to Photoshop’s most powerful feature by Matt Kloskowski. It looks to be indeed a killer book explaining everything you need to know about layers in Photoshop! Go and read more about the book over at the Kelby Training website where you can for a limited time pre-order and get a signed copy of the book!
