The Winners of the Worldwide Photo Walk!

It’s the time! The winners are now revealed! But before I give you the link to go and check them out I want to talk a bit. In the post Scott’s made, he posts how he chosed the winner and the ten runner-ups, below here, I’ll explain how I chosed the winner for the Gothenburg walk and who that person was Now though, without further ado, here are the winners of the worldwide photo walk!

Now, I’m going to tell you up front that it was a really hard task to do. There were so many amazing shots taken that day and just looking at all of them uploaded it seemed like a pretty impossible task at the beginning to pick out the best ones, let alone pick out one winner. What I decided upon doing was making a quick scheme that allowed me to select the ones I really liked. Of course it’s really up to my taste (rest assured, I did get many peoples opinion before being able to decide) and that’s it. All the shots with any tilted horizons etc. were gone right away and the ones that spoke to me with a good message or feeling were in. After I had gathered it down to a bunch of favourites I looked over those over and over before deciding and also asked quite a few people for their opinions. In the end it came down to one final image which I really really liked, among with everyone else I asked.

Therefore it is now my pleasure to reveal the winner of the Gothenburg Photo Walk!

Here in Gothenburg we went on a Photowalk as well and if I may say so, it was really fun and went really really well. Happily enough we had no rain and actually pretty good weather for close-up abstract shots that didn’t involve the bland skyline (great light). The couple of photos above are taken by members of the walk (the one to the far left is of me taking a photos right upwards of a cool shape).

In our Flickr group we are seeing some great photos come up and it’s going to be such a hard time deciding the winner in a days time! If you want to check the magnificent works from the Gothenburg walkers out, check out the Flickr pool! We’re also building up a second pool for shots of the walkers and the event itself here, sadly at the time of writing it’s empty but you can check it out nonetheless.

Here’s the Monday news (apart from that schools back again for me):

First off WordPress 2.6.1 was released at the end of last week. It’s mainly a bug fix update but is recommended nonetheless for all users. Get it from WordPress.org!
Secondly, I know my episode of the podcast is just a little bit late right now. I’m going to record the episode right after this blog post is finished and then post it up for y’all! Trying my best to get it up tonight!
It’s PhotoWalk week! It’s this Saturday the 23rd August. The Scott Kelby Worldwide PhotoWalk! I’m hosting one here in beautiful Gothenburg, Sweden and well, all I can say is that it’s coming up really quickly, so, there are still a few spots left over here last time I looked. If any of you reading this are going to my walk, then you should look out for an email tomorrow with contact information and more detailed location info. Please check your emails for that soon.
Over at WP-Candy today they had a ncie article talking with the subject, "Does WordPress Scare your clients?". It was a very interesting read and is very true indeed. It’s well worth the time to read through.
As a final note, I hate spam. They are filling up more than usual right now and even though I’ve got a good spam filter, they get in the junk mail which gets large and emptied very frequently. SPAM sucks and doesn’t do anyone any good!
