» Worldwide Photo Walk, Saturday August 23rd

On Saturday, August 23rd there will be a worldwide photowalk held in promotion of the upcoming Photoshop Lightroom 2 for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby. I’m going to be hosting the one in my home city of Gothenburg, Sweden. Go and check out the full deal over att Scott’s Blog and view the video below that explains it as well. I haven’t finalised the details for the walk here in Gothenburg just yet but they will be in a day or to. So if you want to join in my photo walk, check out the page here.
» Friday Goodies

There is no hard explanation to why I never posted anything yesterday, I was just so tired after a long day filled with unexpected things. However some Friday Goodies is always needed before the weekend.
- Scott Kelby posted on his blog, Photoshop Insider, today about his latest book, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 for Digital Photographers and said that it was a complete rewrite of his old (about 95% new stuff). According to himself he’s streamlined his workflow, learnt a bunch of new things as well as learnt the most asked questions and how people use it. I can say that it is going to be a killer book!
- Mark your calendars, August 23rd. Something cool is coming. Just mark them and be with me there. No info as of now.
- A few votes in the poll are telling me that they don’t know what Photoshop World is so I thought I’d end that right now be telling. Photoshop World is a semi-annual convention for all Photoshop users. It’s held in the US once on the east coast on the spring and then on the west coat in Las Vegas every fall. This time it is coming up in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on September 4th through 6th. It’s an amazing conference and to read more, check out the Photoshop World website.
- Finally, if you need a mantra for all those times when clients are being a pain curtsey of my fellow NAPP member Michael. "I get paid either way, I get paid either way."
And with that nice mantra have a nice Friday eve and weekend. I’ll probably get some stuff up over the weekend as well.

» Happy Birthday to Scott Kelby!

These things happen once a year for all of us. Today it is Scott Kelby’s turn to become a year older. I want to wish him a great and happy birthday! Hope you are having a truly amazing day!
» Saturday News
It was supposed to be early Saturday but things got interupted and it is not later instead, but here are still some news for you from today and yesterday. Have a great weekend!
- The people over at MacHeist is currently offering Parallels Desktop 3 and MacPilot for the amazing price of $49. What’s more, if you are a returning MacHeist buyer you can get an extra $10 off if you sign in with your account details upon purchase!
- A while ago I wrote that Scott Kelby posted a list of his top requested features on his blog and asked all his readers to contribute with a list. Well, now there is a poll up on the subject where you can vote on your favourite ones on the list. Note though that it isn’t any Adobe official thing but merely an experiment.
- If you are a Photoshop user and a user of the Olympus E-420 or E-520 then you should be happy to know that Adobe Camera Raw 4.5 Beta does support the RAW format in both of those cameras. You can find the plugin here.
» No Blogging Wednesday
Got a lot to do today which means that there will be a no blogging Wednesday. Instead go and check out a guest-blogger post over at Scott Kelby’s blog by Matt Kloskowski that talks about a fun project that involved photoshop! Matt did a wonderful post there and it is worth your time!
Tomorrow is going to be an article Thursday with some coolies! The picture above also from my recent weekend trip! Cool things are happening, more on that tomorrow!
» Late Thursday News
I’m pretty tired after working a full day in the camera store and I’m going to be early because the day is repeating itself tomorrow. Fun but tiresome. Here are at least a few late Thursday news.
- From screenshots of the new Apple App Store we can see that they are imposing restrictions in both price and application size. The maximum size is 2gb and the prices range between $0.99 to $999, where the latter probably is for more enterprise styled applications.
- A new build of the Parallels Desktop shows support for both Linux as well as 3D graphics inside of Windows. To get the free update, just go under the help menu and chose Check for Updates.
- One of the site visitors sent me a comment yesterday noting me on a tutorial error which is indeed a realism miss. In the Pixelmator tutorial about Creating a realistic sunlight effect I missed to at the end, flip the copied image vertically so that the small piece of the window comes at the top. So for anyone being affected by this miss in the recording, now you know how to fix it.
- Over at his blog, Scott Kelby has posted a review of the Ray Flash. The Ray Flash is essentially a ring flash that attaches to a normal hotshoe flash to make it a ring flash. It sounds like a cool product so go and check that out.
That’s that for the news today, tomorrow I’ll be back with the Friday goodies, so stay tuned. Oh and until then, don’t have too much trouble, it is Friday 13th.
